The D’Alembert Roulette System is a simple `negative progression` system that is very well known, having been around for many decades. Invented by a mathematician called Jean le Rond D`Alembert, it focuses on the simple premise that over time all of the numbers will come up an equal number of times.
Using a bet placed on one of the near 50/50 stakes such as `Red` or `Black` he theorised that if you make a bet and win then the chances are that a repeat bet will likely obtain the opposite result, namely losing. So he carried this thought to the logical conclusion and decided that if you bet less after a win and bet more after a loss you will start to weigh the financial outcome in your favour.
For your initial bet you need a medium sized stake. This is because you will adjust future stakes based on your results and as such need to be able to work your stake upwards and downwards.
So for example, we would stake £20 on the first bet. Choose a table with £1 minimum stakes so you can adjust your total staking amount by that much with ease.
Choose where to place your bet. Remember to only choose from the 50/50 “outside bets” such as Red, Black, Even, Odd, 1st 18, or 2nd 18. The system only works on these and not on individual numbers.
Be sure to bet on the same place for the remainder of the time you are using the system.
If you win, subtract £1 from your next bet. If you lose, add £1 to your next bet. It’s as easy as that and keep repeating until you hit your profit target. You should always have a set stop signal in your head, a profit target that lets you know when to stop for the day.
One of the great things about The D’Alembert Roulette System is how you can adjust your bet to what is happening, making this technique feel much more directly related to the action occurring in front of you on the table.
This system requires a decent sized bankroll and a calm nerve so is more suited to experienced roulette players in our opinion. Beginner players should choose one of our other systems such as the 92% Roulette System
